The one day emergency first aid at work syllabus is as approve by the First aid approval and monitoring service, the course is designed to last for 6 hours and complies with the legal requirements of Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. The course content can be tailored to the clients needs. The course consists of mainly practical work in the following areas:

• Priorities of First Aid
• First aid equipment
• Duties of a First Aider
• Actions in emergencies
• Basic Life Support & CPR
• The unconscious casualty
• Treatment for wounds and bleeding
• Fractures, dislocations, soft tissue injuries
• Treatment for burns and scalds
• Treatment for Shock

Delegates will be continually assessed by their tutor throughout the course.
